Planning and policy advocacy

  • The 9th project steering committee meeting was held on 6th April, 2011 under the chairmanship of Principal Secretary, Labour and Employment. In the PSC meeting, the progress of the projects of Ist quarter was presented and issues were discussed.

Skill Development

  • Proposals of 213 existing and new training providers have been received for approving 772 programmes for the year -2011-12. Same are being examined for approval. RMoL would be completing 570 programmes during the financial year 2010-11. Of these, 198 skill training programmes are on-going and 372 programmes have been completed.
  • Skill Division of the RMoL organized two Orientation cum Planning Workshops on 1st and 6th April, 2011 for the existing training providers.
  • The mobile skill training program is being implemented in four districts i.e. Tonk, Rajsamand, Baran and Barmer. The training is being conducted by the identified agencies i.e. GVT (Gramin Vikas Trust), B-able (BASIX Academy for Building Life Long Employability) and BCT (Bhoruka Charitable Trust). The training has been started in all the districts. Two batches are running in every district, one in morning and one in evening. BCT was running two batches i.e. Household and Electrical Wiring and Motor Winding with the 25 and 23 students respectively. GVT is running two courses with 25 students in each batch. The courses are Diesel Engine and Pump set mechanic and Two- Wheeler Repairing.

Initiatives for Livelihood Promotion

  • Under Dairy project, a new group has been formed in village Hathi ka kheda. An exposure visit was also organized to a cluster named Dilkush in Sujjanpur to understand various aspects at cluster level. One group’s account has been opened and four more are in process. This month 9 A.I. has been done. 11 P.D. checks have been made and out of that 6 has been successful. For fodder development, improved variety of Jowar has been introduced. Training has been provided on concept seeding at two villages namely Hathi ka kheda and Kakodia with no. of participants 25 and 9 respectively.
  • Under the Tribal SME Project, the reviews of all the 5 partners on their project progress have been completed by CEE team on 26th April, 2011. First the status of the enterprise was discussed with NGO and then the other points discussed were loan recovery, issues and necessary support. 35 new proposals have been reviewed at the cluster level and strategy developed to allocate some innovation fund from the GNC for trial and demonstration.
  • Under the Fishery Project, the cluster meeting was organized in Garhi in which decisions regarding the harvesting of fishes and the concerned modalities were taken. Harvesting from ponds namely Hatholia, Navatalab and Bhudanpura ponds has already been started and first lot of harvested fishes of around 500 kgs have been sold successfully which has resulted in the revenue generation of around Rs. 32,000 for the cluster. Moreover, the process of establishing the shop for retailing of fishes is in advanced stage with all the related formalities like renting of shop, placing of marketing and selling assets has been done.
  • Under the Sheep breed improvement project, 50 monthly group meetings were held which focused mainly on maintenance of accounts, record keeping, saving, credit, inter-loaning etc. Four vaccination camps were also organized, two each in Dungargarh and Lunkaransar blocks. Apart from it, two trainings regarding creation of awareness about various Government schemes were also conducted.
  • Under the TADD Child Migration Project, RMoL field team visited the office of PIA and field on 5-6 April, 2011.Meetings with District Collectors of all four districts and officials from Department of Labour & Employment were organized for convergence of Tribal Rural Livelihood Project with other line departments. SHG formation is in process and 42 groups are formed till 28th April, 2011. 42 SHGs has been formed and the number of SHGs in each district is given below:

Initiatives at RMoL District Offices

  • The District Manager, Baran participated in the one day Workshop on “Sharing of Experiences on Participatory Socio Economic Survey (PSES)” in reference to Pilot on BPL Census – 2011 was held at NIRD, Hyderabad on 15.4.2011.
  • The District Manager, Baran visited to Ranibarod and Railawan village of Kishanganj block to monitor the skill trainings being conducted through Mobile Van. During the visit, he found that the training was going well and the participation of candidates was very good.
  • The District Manager, Udaipur had various meetings with the Tribal Area Development Department. During the meetings, details of unit cost, Hindi version of Implementation Plan and Skill Training Modules were shared and update was provided on the progress under the Child Migration Project.
  • The District Manager,Udaipur visited Kotada on 13th of April and Jhadol area on 22nd of April to monitor the progress of Household and Livelihood Profiling Survey and the formation of SHGs under TADD project. During the visit interactions were held with the Community Mobilizes, Field Investigators, SHG members and members from the community.
  • On 20th of April, the District Manager, Udaipur made a visit to the ongoing skill training programmes on Facial Therapist and Ladies Tailor in the Industrial Training Institute for Women. Discussions were held with the trainees, trainers and the Superintendant of the Institute.
  • On 27th of April 2011, the District Manager, Udaipur had a meeting with Excise Commissioner, Mr. Ajitabh Sharma to discuss possibilities of RMoL taking up the implementation of Navjeevan Scheme. The Commissioner shared that the Government has decided to make 'Social Welfare' the nodal department for implementation of the scheme and suggested meeting the Commissioner, Social Welfare in Jaipur.
  • The District Manager, participated in  a meeting convened by the District Collector on convergence with UNICEF and Deptt. of Education with TRLP in 8 panchayats of Bichhiwara. It was agreed in principal that RMoL may work in coordination with UNICEF and Department of Education through District Institute for Education and Training (DIET). The District Manager also had a separate meeting with the Principal, DIET and discussed on the modus operandi and identified the panchayats for possible collaboration amongst UNICEF, Deptt. of Education, District Administration and RMoL. 
  • In order to improve the quality of RMoL’s training, the District Manager, Dungarpur had a meeting with Director, (RUDSETI) BSVS, Bank of Baroda on conduction of RMoL's training programme in their campus. Responding to the discussion, a proposal has been submitted to RMoL by RUDSETI requesting for permission to start training in 3 trades – Digital Camera Photography, Videography, Handicraft Artificial Jewellary.
  • The District Manager, Dungarpur paid three field visits of TRLP area in Dungarpur in Bichhiwara (Mewada panchayat) and Simalwara (Kuan Panchayat) blocks with the District Coordinator, and community mobilisers, ACCESS and shared the observations with RMoL headoffice
