Planning and policy advocacy

  • A one day workshop on Experience Sharing on Livelihoods & Skill Development- “Learning and Avenues” was organized on 14th June, 2011 with the objective to share the experience of various organizations engaged in the field of Livelihood Promotion and Skill Development and to recommend the future strategies to be undertaken for enhancement of Livelihood Promotion and Skill Development in the State. The workshop was inaugurated by Sh. B. B. Mohanty, Additional Chief Secretary, Development, Government of Rajasthan and Sh. Vijay Mahajan, Chairman BASIX Group and Sh. S. G. Vyas, Chairman CII. The presentations were made by the representatives of Team Lease, NSDC, CIDC, BAIF, B-ABLE, Agha Khan Foundation, PRADAN, RCDF etc. The workshop signified the presence of more than 90 participants from various organizations.

Skill Development

  • Approval  of 493 programmes to 190 training providers have been given for the year 2011-12. No service provider has been identified for providing services to skill development programme of  RMoL. However, in-principle letters have been issued to 121 training providers for conducting 349 programmes.
  • RMoL would be completing 569 programmes during the financial year 2010-11. Of these, 24 skill training programmes are on-going and 545 programmes have been completed.
  • Three new courses have been developed and   last year courses modified slightly and multiplied for sending to the training providers.
  • Under  mobile skill training program, two courses running in Tonk district have been completed. In Tonk the courses were running at Dooni with the number of 23 students and at Aanwa with 21 students. At Dooni, the course Household and Electrical Wiring has been completed on 28th June, 2011 and at Aanwa the course Motor Repair has been completed on 29th June, 2011. The students are being sent to OJT from 1st of July, 2011. While in Barmer district courses are running at Bhadka and Radha Ki Dhani with the number of students 25 and 23 respectively. The courses running are Diesel Engine and Pump set mechanic and 2 Wheeler Repair.In Rajsamand district, the next batch is yet to start. The OJT of the students of last batch has been completed.

Initiatives for Livelihood Promotion

  • Under dairy project, one group account has been opened this month. Till date, 26 group accounts have been opened. A training programme was also conducted in Balapura on Productivity Enhancement, in which  26 women participated. 512 cattle vaccination has been done in 5 villages and one vet camp in one village. This month 8 A.I. has been made and 2 P.D. checks have been conducted.
  • Under Kanjar Project, process for admitting 18 children of Kanjar family to school at Mandana, Kota has been initiated. All relevant documents for admission have been prepared. Children will be admitted in next month. Regular meetings of SHGs and Dera Vikas Samiti was conducted were various issues of Kanjars were discussed.
  • Under the Tribal SME Project, Federation meeting done by all partners and major discussion was on ensuring and regularizing SHGs meeting, Gramnidhi new enterprise, and recovery of pending dues. Above 2 lakhs due recovery deposited after continuous and effective follow-up and discussion with SHGs of Sahyog , Prayatna, Sangam and Samarthak NGOs. In total 55 SHGs meetings attended by partner’s staff member and effort done to finalize new entrepreneurs for Gramnidhi phase II. For need base technical support (feed management, marketing support) to the entrepreneur’s, total 82 entrepreneur’s visit done by NGOs and CEE Staff. Futhermore, exposure visits were organized for Samarthak Samiti’s 18 entrepreneurs and SHG members to Gramnidhi Project at JASDAN (Gujarat) for their learning on developing business plan, business management and their exposure on important ways of market linkage for successful business. Pre-monsoon vaccination camp organized at HAYLA on 23rd June 2011 for Goatry enterprises with local animal husbandry doctors. Total 200 above goat vaccinated in this camp
  • Under the TADD Child Migration Project, a study of 4000 tribal families having cases of child migration have been completed and draft report submitted to the Commissioner, TADD. Revised unit cost for all the proposed interventions (as per study findings) worked out and been approved by the TADD officials. Futher, two capacity building orientation training organized for SHG members was organised in Banswara. 5 Hand pumps were repaired with support of the ADM and PHED, water supply also started in Hatiya Dili through PHED. Identification of beneficiaries for well deepening under TAD scheme in Banswara in process. Identification of beneficiaries for social welfare schemes under process in Pratapgarh. In total 90 women groups are formed in 40 project villages in all the 4 districts. There are 1071 members in these 92 SHGs and the detail project orientation has been done for the members of 37 SHGs. On field PoP trainings of Ginger crop was organised in Banswara, Dungarpur and Udaipur district. In these trainings scientists built the capacities of field staff and farmers who were selected for this cash crop intervention

Monitoring

  • A four day field visit to review the Child Migration project was conducted by PD, RMoL along with RMoL team and ACCESS team in Udaipur, Banswara and Pratpgarh districts.
  • Meeting held with PS, TADD, GoR, in room no. 19 in the secretariat to review the TADD funded child migration project. The project team briefed the project progress and they were RMoL his chamber on 25th May, 2011for conducting.
  • Meeting held with the Commissioner on 15th June and 28th June, 2011 with the Commissioner, TADD on the TADD funded project review. The project progress was appreciated and it was also assured in both these meetings that TADD will sanction 2 more projects to RMoL.

Initiatives at RMoL District Offices-

  • The District Manager, Udaipur made a monitoring field visit to Kushalgarh block in Banswara and Peepalkhunt block in Pratapgarh district. The visit was made along with the Project Director-RMoL, Senior Manager and District Manager-Baran.
  • The District Manager, Udaipur attended a meeting which was held with the Joint Labour Commissioner and Assistant Labour Commissioner. In the meeting they were updated on the progress under TADD project and it was decided that a joint meeting of Task Force and DLCC may be organised in the month of July 2011.
  • On 9th of June 2011, District Manager-Udaipur participated in the alumni meet of the Industrial Training Institute for Women and also documented some successful case studies after discussions with the trainees of Hair dressing and Facial Therapist programmes.
  • On 10th of June 2011, District Manager-Udaipur made a monitoring visit to Parmer panchayat and also participated in the SHG orientation programme of 3 groups in the village. 
  • The District Manager, Udaipur had two meetings during the month with the Project Officer-TADD. He was updated on the progress and also the List of Identified Households was approved.
  • The District Manager, Udaipur had  meetings with the Additional Commissioner-MADA and Chief Executive Officer-Zila Parishad, Udaipur to explore possibilities of getting training assignment under MADA and Scattered areas.
  •  The District Manager, Udaipur participated in the meeting of Gram Nidhi Committee under the Small and Micro Enterprises being implemented by Centre for Environment Education. A review of the project was also done along with the 5 partner organisations.
  • The District Manager, Baran  made a field visit to Peepalkhunt block in Pratapgarh and Kushalgarh block in Banswara district to monitor the progress of the project. The visit was made along with the Project Director, RMoL, Senior Manager and District Manager, Udaipur.
  • The District Manager had a meeting with the Chief Executive Officer, Zila Parishad and In-Charge of MADA training program to explore possibilities of getting training assignment under MADA and Scattered areas.
