Skill Development

Till Oct. 787 programmes have been approved to 271 training providers. Skill training in 106 programmes is on going and 28 programmes have been completed. An amount of Rs. 223.69 lakhs has been sanctioned for 235 programmes and Rs. 161.56 lakhs have been released as advance to 141 training providers. A Draft Report of the Working Group on Skill Development has been prepared by the group, which was constituted by PS (LE&T).
Initiatives for Livelihood Promotion

Under Dairy Project, training cum exposure visit of a group was organized in Ruparale. PRA exercise was also conducted in the village named Devi Kheda. Trainings for animal health care and PEP (Productivity Enhancement Programme) at village level are regularly being conducted. This month about four trainings have been conducted. 18 A.I has been undergone in 6 villages. An exposure visit of 25 women was conducted on PEP in Alwar. Under fodder development programme an analysis of 43 farmers have been made to know the impact. According to the analysis the availability of the fodder has been increased for 3-4 months

Under fishery Project, One group linked with bank, loan provided to the tune of Rs. 50,000 for seed stocking. Stocking of fish completed in 5 ponds. Harvesting resumed in 3 ponds and rest 2 would resume in Nov. 2011. Marketing through local retailing around pond. Group meeting and cluster level meeting being held on regular basis.
- Under Sheep Cluster, 52 SHG Meetings Organized. One Vaccination Camps organized with District Animal Husbandry Department, in which 1200 animals and 1000 sheep were treated. Three Health Checkup Camps organized with Distt. Animal Husbandry Department, in which 3342 animals and 2226 sheep were treated. 29 Sheep SHGs member participated in other livelihood program training.

Under Tribal SME, Gramnidhi registration done by the district registrar and new account opened by Gramnidhi trust and SHG fund will be shifted in this account in Nov, 2011. Federation and SHG meetings organized by all the five partners in this month. In total 50 entrepreneurs’ visits done by the partners and CEE team for providing need based support services. Primary basic entrepreneurship orientation training done for 8 new entrepreneurs (finalized in last Gramnidhi meeting) of Devla and kotra areas. For livestock base entrepreneurs’ knowledge refreshing, CEE and its partners have provided learning materials to all the new and existing entrepreneurs, through updated POPs and Gramnidhi news letter during training and SHGs Meeting.

Under the TADD Child Migration Project, So far 199 demo plots (8 in Oct month) of ginger, maize with peason-pea, maize with urad and chilli has been carried out with the project beneficiaries. Out of total 199, 29 demo plots have been visited by scientist team in this month. 199 health card and PoP has been distributed among the project beneficiaries. So far 142 tribal families are linked with the goatery and poultry activities. 42 tribal families are inked in this month. The access team along with livestock expert has visited to Devgarh which is known as very good market of Sirohi goat varieties and purchased goats for their distribution to the tribal families identified during the baseline survey. During the month, total 65 youths were trained and while the trainings were in progress potential employers also visited and interacted with the participants. Till date 149 youth are trained. 114 groups are formed till date.
- Under TADD Mason Training Programme, 500 tribal BPL youth to be trained in construction sector in 11 districts of Rajasthan. Total five agencies namely B-ABLE, SAATH Livelihood Services, Bhartiya Shodh Sansthan (BSS), Bhoruka Charitable Trust (BCT) and ITI Sangod have been finalized. The MoU is in signing process with these agencies.
Initiatives at RMoL District Office
- District Manager Udaipur, on 13th of October 2011 visited to the ongoing Mason training under Child Migration project. During the visit discussions were held with the officials from Access Development Services, Director-R-SETI, trainees and the trainers.
- District Manager Udaipur had meetings with some of the organizations including Vikalp Foundation and Manu Sewa Sansthan. The organizations were provided with the necessary details and advised to apply in RMoL Jaipur office along with required documents.
- District Manager Udaipur, had a review meeting with Access Development Services on 10th of October 2011. In the meeting various issues including submission of quarterly progress report, slow pace of financial utilization and issues in skill trainings were discussed.
- A monitoring field visit was made on 12th of October to Jhadol area in Udaipur district to review the field progress under Child Migration Project. District Manager was accompanied by District Coordinator-Access Development Services and Animal Husbandry Expert Mr. Jain. During the visit chick distribution was made to the tribal households selected for livestock interventions. The Scientist also provided training to the beneficiaries on poultry farming.
- District Manager along with the team of Access Development Services and the Livestock Expert made a visit to Devgarh in Rajsamand district for procurement of Sirohi breed goats for the beneficiaries selected for livestock interventions.
- On 20th of October 2011, District Manager made a visit to Dungarpur district for assessment of applications received by RMoL for partnership in Vocational and Skill Training Project supported by TADD. During the visit assessment was made of two organizations Bharatiya Shodh Sansthan and an Industrial Training College. Assessment Reports were submitted to RMoL Head Office.
